English Language

(A) Aims

  1. To provide greater opportunities for students to use English for purposeful communication both inside and outside of the classroom.
  2. To make greater use of literary/imaginative texts to develop critical thinking and encourage free expression and creativity.
  3. To promote strategies, values, and attitudes that are constructive for effective, independent, and lifelong learning.

The English department strives to create an inclusive and inspiring learning atmosphere where students can develop their four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. We focus on fostering critical thinking and creativity through diverse activities that cater to different learning styles. By encouraging collaboration and exploration, we aim to empower students to express themselves confidently and engage meaningfully with texts, ultimately nurturing lifelong learners who appreciate the power of language.
Our school offers a variety of extracurricular activities focused on enhancing English language skills, for example, English Delegate Team, English Master Junior, Choral Speaking Team, Language Arts, English Drama, STEM in English, Fun with Poetry.
English Day

Every year, the English Department organizes themed English Days that provide students with exciting opportunities to engage with the language in a fun and interactive way. These special events encourage creativity and collaboration, allowing students to participate in games, performances, and activities that enhance their English skills. By immersing themselves in these dynamic experiences, students not only improve their language abilities but also develop a deeper appreciation for English in a lively and supportive environment.

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, this year’s theme, “Wellness Wonderland,” aimed to promote wellness among our students. Throughout the event, students enjoyed fun and imaginative adventures, engaging in activities that focused on both physical and mental well-being.
